Greene County magistrate court, week ending June 17

In Greene County magistrate court a judgment was entered June 15 against Steven Logan Dzuris of Jefferson in a case initiated in district court. Dzuris was charged with domestic abuse assault- serious offense. The charge was amended to domestic abuse assault- simple and remanded to magistrate court. He was sentenced to 30 days in jail; all but two days were suspended. He must complete a Domestic Abuse Intervention Services program at his own expense. Dzuris must pay a $65 fine with a $22.75 surcharge, $96 in sheriff’s room and board charges, restitution for his court appointed attorney’s fees in an amount to be determined, and $140 court costs.

A judgment was entered against Justin Trevor Tysseling of Jefferson on a charge of assault- simple. He was fined $100 with a $35 surcharge. Court costs were $103.

A judgment was entered against Janon Lezlie Olson of Jefferson on a charge of theft-fifth degree. She was fined $65 with a $22.75 surcharge. She must also pay a $125 Law Enforcement Initiative surcharge and $60 court costs.

A judgment for time served was entered against Dewayne Edward Phipps of Ogden on a charge of violation of a no contact order. He must pay $48 in sheriff’s room and board fees and $60 court costs.

Cases were initiated in magistrate court during the week ending June 17 as follows: Paul Richard Nelson of Jefferson, violation of a no contact order; Montana Gothard of Jefferson, assault- simple; and Jeffery Michael Rockdaschel of Lohrville, possession of drug paraphernalia and disorderly conduct.

Persons paid fines for scheduled traffic violations during the week ending June 17 as follows: Steven Eugene Pote of Panora and Tyler Joseph Burns of Ankeny, dark window or windshield, $50; Andrea M. Hiracheta of Bellevue, NE, speed, $120; and Caleb Robert Haselhuhn of Albia, unsafe entry onto sidewalk or roadway, $100.

Also, speed, $80 (11-15 mph over limit): Anthony Paul Tasler of Ankeny, Megan Johanna Huisman of Ames, and *Aditya Raj of Ames.

Speed, $40 (6-10 over): Connie Lynn Diekema of Des Moines, Jennifer Ellen Dunaway Grandgeorge of Bondurant, and Hannah Marie Clausen of Carroll.

Speed, $20 (1-5 over): Justin D. Abrams of E. Otis, MA, Joyce Diane Rasmussen of Jefferson, and Ryan A. Kehm of Omaha, NE.

Failure to wear/maintain safety belt, $50: Randy Linn Delp and Scott Michael Harmer, both of Jefferson.

Judgments were entered against individuals for nonpayment of scheduled fines as follows (original fine listed): Ashley Zambrano of Carroll, operation without registration card or plate, $50; Travis Edwin Shannon of Rippey, speed, $20; *Eduardo Bonilla Perez of Perry, failure to prove security against liability- accident related, $500; Anghenio A. Ngirchoimei of Lincoln, NE, speed, $40; *Jacob Thomas Monthei of Jefferson, failure to maintain control, $100;

Judgments were entered on five fish and game violations against Rheise Allen Presnall of Churdan. The citations were written in November 2014 and were in connection with a felony case against Presnall that involved charges of drug violations, and assault on a sheriff’s deputy in Cedar Township. The citiations on which judgments were entered include: restrictions on taking game, blue wing teal, $50; no game breeders license, $25; restrictions on taking game, deer and turkey, $100 with $1,500 restitution; restrictions on taking game, doves (five), $25; and restrictions on taking game, pied billed (protected), $100.

The judgment includes a penalty of one-half the original fine and surcharge.

Court costs were $60 on each citation unless otherwise noted.

*An additional $5 county surcharge was added.
