Greene County district court, week ending June 17

In Greene County district court Preston Perin, 54, of Jefferson was sentenced June 13 to 60 days in jail after he pleaded guilty to a charge of assault-serious, amended from domestic abuse assault causing injury. The jail sentence was suspended and Perin was placed in informal probation for one year. He was fined $15 with a $110.25 surcharge. He must also pay $600 restitution for his court appointed attorney’s fees, and $193 court costs. (Sentencing: Honorable Adria A. Kester)

Persons pleaded not guilty in district court as follows: Kyle Cuddy, 29, of Jefferson, burglary-third degree; and Tyson James Ruth, 35, of Jefferson, possession of methamphetamine, theft- second degree, possession of stolen property, criminal trespass. Cuddy’s trial date was set for Aug. 23. Ruth’s trial date was set for July 26.

Cases were initiated in district court as follows: Tonya Marie Hagge, 30, of Jefferson, assault causing bodily injury; Christina L. Owens, 30, of Jefferson, assault causing bodily injury; Randy Dean Esslinger, 61, of Bayard, operating while intoxicated (OWI)-first offense; Timothy J. Lee, 59, of Paton, OWI-second offense; and Patrick Michael Kennedy, 31, of Jefferson, domestic abuse assault impeding air/blood flow.
