Greene County district court, week ending April 26

In Greene County district court a charge of theft- fourth degree against Bradlee Gene Beadle, 53, of Jeffersonn was dismissed after a bench trial over which magistrate Jessica Morton presided. Court costs were $1,000.

Michael Lee Eastman, 49, of Jefferson was sentenced April 24 to a term not to exceed five years in prison after he changed his plea to guilty to a charge of possession of a controlled substance- third or subsequent offense. He was fined $1,025 with a $153.75 surcharge. The fine and surcharge were dismissed. The court found him unable to pay restitution for his court appointed attorney’s fees and court costs. One count of possession of a controlled substance- third or subsequent offense was dismissed. In a related case in magistrate court, Eastman was sentenced to 30 days in jail with credit for time served on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia. A charge of theft- fifth degree was dismissed.

Eastman was sentenced a term not to exceed two years in prison on a charge of harassment- first degree. He was fined $855 with a $128.25 surcharge; both were dismissed. He is unable to pay attorney restitution and court costs.

A charge against Eastman of driving while license barred was dismissed.

Eastman was charged in magistrate court with theft- fifth degree and in a separate case, with interference with official acts. He was sentenced to 30 days in jail on each count, with $60 court costs on each count.

Darrin James Gordon, 30, of Jefferson was granted a deferred judgment after he changed his plea to guilty to a charge of operating while intoxicated. He was placed on probation to Boone/Greene County Probation for one year, and he must undergo a substance abuse evaluation and complete any recommended treatment at his own expense. He must also enroll in a community college drunk driving school at his own expense. He must perform 40 hours of community service and pay a civil penalty of $1,250. (Sentencing: McCarville)

Joshua Jay Blumberg, 28, of Grand Junction pleaded not guilty to a charge of domestic abuse assault causing injury or mental illness. A trial date was set for June 18.

Cases were initiated in district court as follows: Jason William Sheldahl, 52, of Story City, possession of methamphetamine- third or subsequent offense; Jessie James Sanders, 21, of Jefferson, burglary- third degree; and Carlos Ricardo Gonzales, 47, of Dayton, driving while license barred.
