Jefferson police officer Nick Sorensen will be the new Jefferson building and zoning official after action taken by the city council at its regular meeting June 9. According to city administrator Mike Palmer, there were 18 applicants for the position. Sorensen will assume the position June 15. Sorensen’s starting annual salary will be $46,547.
