Toni Linberg and Matt Wetrich of Jefferson share photos from their Minnesota Avian Adventure last weekend to the far northern reaches of Minnesota. Matt is the Carroll County naturalist. He coordinated the trip as an offshoot of his work, and because he really loves birds. Ask Matt to warble like a bird, and he’ll ask which bird before he whistles. Toni is director of marketing and admissions  at Regency Park Nursing and Rehab Center in Jefferson.

The owl photos were taken with cellular phones and spotting scopes. Erik Bruhnke,  guide for the bird watching portion of the trip, photographed the snowy owl, and Toni snapped the picture of the hawk owl.

Forty persons from Iowa, Illinois and Arizona took the trip to Sax-Zim Bog, Two Harbors, Split Rock Lighthouse and Duluth. (Remember that clicking on a photo will display it larger in a new screen.)
