A pitcher who strikes out 11 batters usually gets a win for the game, unless his teammates commit six errors. Ram senior pitcher Colton Fitzpatrick had 11 strikeouts but took the loss in a 6-4 game against the Ogden Bulldogs in Jefferson Tuesday. Fitzpatrick pitched 5-2/3 innings before Daric Whipple and then Tyler Beger came in as relief.

The Ram baseball team won both games of a doubleheader against the Roland-Story Norsemen in Jefferson Wednesday evening. The first game was a 4-2 win behind senior Riah Nelsen’s solid pitching. Nelsen improved his record on the mound to 5-1 as he struck out 13 batters. He walked four and allowed five hits. Both the Norsemen’s runs were earned.

The Greene County Rams claimed the title in the Heart of Iowa Activities Conference with a 9-1 victory over the Saydel Eagles in Jefferson Wednesday. The Rams are 15-0 in the conference.
