In Greene County district court Melori Joi Redhorn, 37, of Sioux City was sentenced April 20 to 15 days in jail after she changed her plea to guilty to a charge of theft- fourth degree. The jail sentence is concurrent to a sentence in a Woodbury County case, but she will receive credit for time served in that case. Redhorn must pay $415 victim restitution, a $430 fine and a $64.50 surcharge. No court costs were assessed. (Sentencing: Honorable Joseph B. McCarville)
Jared Michael Bielenberg, 36, of Coon Rapids was sentenced to 30 days in jail with credit for time served after he pleaded guilty to a charge of possession of methamphetamine- first offense, amended from possession of methamphetamine- second offense. The jail sentence was suspended and he was placed on probation to the Iowa Department of Correctional Services for two years. A judgment was entered for a $430 fine with a $64.50 surcharge. Bielenberg must pay restitution not to exceed $500 for his court appointed attorney’s fees and $283.60 court costs. A charge in magistrate court of possession of drug paraphernalia was dismissed.
