In Greene County district court Hunter Don Dennis, 21, of Casey was sentenced to seven days of jail after he changed his plea to guilty to a charge of driving while license revoked. All but two days of the jail term was suspended; the sentence is consecutive to a term in Dallas County on a charge of operating while intoxicated. Dennis was placed on probation to the Iowa Department of Correctional Services for one year. He was fined $1,000 with a $150 surcharge. Court costs were $100. (Sentencing: Honorable Joseph B. Jonathan Ray Wittrock, 54, of Carroll pleaded not guilty to a charge of possession of methamphetamine- second offense. A trial date was set for Sept 29.
Cases were initiated during the week ending July 24 as follows: Nancy Ann O’Brien, 55, of Carroll, operating while intoxicated; and Daniel Joseph Tasler, 35, of Jefferson, theft- second degree and criminal mischief- third degree.
