Greene County district court, week ending July 10

In Greene County district court Kelly Lynn Greving, 48, of Jefferson was granted a deferred judgment after he pleaded guilty to a charge on ongoing criminal conduct, amended from manufacture, deliver or possess with intent to manufacture or deliver not more than 5 gr of a mixture of a substance containing a detectable amount of methamphetamine. He was placed on probation to the Iowa Department of Correctional Services for three years. One count of ongoing criminal conduct, one count of controlled substance violation and one count of prostitution was dismissed. No court costs were listed. (Sentencing: Honorable Derek Johnson)

Travis Ryan Armstrong, 37, of Scranton was sentenced to a term not to exceed five years in prison after he changed his plea to guilty to a charge of possession of methamphetamine- third or subsequent offense. The prison term was suspended. If Armstrong eventually serves the term it will be consecutive to the prison term in another Greene County felony case. He was placed on probation to the Iowa Department of Correctional Services for two years. He must undergo a substance abuse evaluation and complete any recommended treatment at his own expense. He was fined $1,025 with a $153.75 surcharge; both were suspended. he must pay an amount not to exceed $400 restitution for his court appointed attorney’s fees and court costs. A charge of possession of marijuana- third or subsequent offense was dismissed. (Sentencing: Honorable Joseph B. McCarville)

Takyla Ruth Pittman, 36, of Grand Junction was sentenced to 10 days in jail with credit for time served after she changed her plea to guilty to a charge of driving while license barred. She may serve the sentence in Boone or Greene County. She was fined $855 with a $128.25 surcharge; the fine and surcharge were suspended. She must pay restitution for her court appointed attorney’s fees not to exceed $400 and $140 court costs. (Sentencing: McCarville)

Mark Henry Morrow, 65, of Carson was sentenced to 30 days in jail with credit for time served after he changed his plea to guilty to a charge of driving while license barred. He may serve the remaining jail time in two increments. He was fined $855 with a $128.25 surcharge; both were suspended. He must pay an amount not to exceed $400 restitution for his court appointed attorney’s fees. Court costs were not listed. (Sentencing: McCarville)

Cases were initiated in district court during the week ending July 10 as follows: Nathan Allen Zollars, 36, of Dana, domestic abuse assault- second offense; and Eric Earl Carpenter, 49, of Monroe, operating while intoxicated.
