Following are excerpts of activities reported by the Greene County sheriff’s office:
Thursday, June 11: At 7:18 am the sheriff investigated a vehicle in the ditch on Hwy 4 near 305th St in Greenbrier Township. The vehicle was not damaged and the owner had left the scene. At 7:36 am a deputy assisted with a tree down along with downed power lines in the 700 block of Locust St in Scranton. At 10:12 am a deputy investigated a complaint of illegal dumping in Scranton. At 2:10 pm the sheriff and deputies assisted the Guthrie County sheriff’s office with a pursuit that started on Hwy 141 near Highway 4 and ended in Greene County on 305th St and Terrace Ave in Franklin Township. Lucas Smith, 19, of West Des Moines was arrested on charges of possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and eluding. At 4:17 pm Elijah Finerane, 23, of Denison was booked into the jail for a violation of probation. At 4:32 pm a deputy assisted the Iowa Department of Correctional Services in the 800 block of Stanton St in Scranton. At 9:49 pm a deputy picked up found drug paraphernalia in Scranton.
Wednesday, June 10: At 1:29 pm Daniel Holinski, 26, of Jefferson was booked into the jail on a charge of operating while intoxicated*. At 4:15 pm a deputy assisted with a dog running at large near X Ave and 230th St in Junction Township. The dog was taken to the Greene County animal shelter. At 6:21 pm Kristina Greene, 51, of Jefferson was booked into the jail on charges of assault and interference with official acts*.
Tuesday, June 9: At 11:05 am Lorena Andrade, 28, of Perry was booked into the jail on charges of possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia*. At 6:03 pm a deputy assisted the Jefferson PD with executing a search warrant in the 200 block of N. Elm St. At 8:04 pm Bryant Margetta, 39, of Jefferson was booked into the jail on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana, possession of a controlled substance, manufacturing/delivering/possessing with the intent to deliver, and drug trafficking methamphetamine*.
Monday, June 8: At 9:47 pm Angela Peterson, 45, of Carroll was booked into the jail on charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia*.
Sunday, June 7: At 8:09 am a deputy investigated found property near 305th St and S Ave in Washington Township. At 11:07 am a deputy investigated a complaint of a vicious dog in Grand Junction. At 9:02 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of a vicious dog in a different location in Grand Junction.
Saturday, June 6: Routine activity reported.
Friday, June 5: At 5:24 pm the Greene County sheriff’s office assisted by the Jefferson PD conducted a search warrant at 1506 Westwood Dr, Jefferson. Suspected methamphetamine, marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and firearms were seized. Charges are pending lab results. At 6:56 pm deputies conducted a search warrant at 304 W. Paton St in Paton. A vehicle was seized that was used in several criminal mischief crimes. At 10:42 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of criminal mischief in Scranton.
Thursday, June 4: At 1:24 pm the sheriff investigated a reported car in the ditch in the 1500 block of 235th St west of Jefferson. No vehicle was located. At 1:40 pm the sheriff located a stolen vehicle in Rippey.
Wednesday, June 3: At 7:52 am a deputy investigated several complaints of criminal mischief around and in Churdan. At 2:07 pm a deputy investigated a reported vehicle theft in Grand Junction. The vehicle was not stolen; it was repossessed. At 6:31 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of harassment in Scranton. At 7:58 pm Scott Slinger, 53, of Bayard was booked into the jail for a probation violation*.
Tuesday, June 2: At 3:14 pm the sheriff and deputies assisted Calhoun County with armed subject in a shed in the 3000 block of Preston Ave in Lohrville. At 9:45 pm a deputy investigated a theft in Grand Junction.
Monday, June 1: At 11:28 am a deputy investigated a complaint of harassment in Scranton. At 3:19 pm Shelby Hose, 18, of Jefferson was booked into the jail on charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana*. At 5:01 pm a deputy investigated a theft in Rippey. At 5:30 pm the sheriff and deputies assisted with trees down around Jefferson.
