Greene County magistrate court, week ending April 12

In Greene County magistrate court Daniel Green of Urbandale was sentenced to two years in prison with credit for time served after he changes his plea to guilty to a charge of theft- second degree. The prison term was suspended and he was placed on probation to the Greene County sheriff for one year. He must pay $150 restitution to HyVee and $160 restitution to Fareway. Green must also pay an amount not to exceed $1,200 restitution for his court appointed attorney’s fees and $643.22 court costs. In a related case a charge of theft- third degree lottery forgery or theft of tickets was dismissed.

Judgment was entered in a case that was initiated in district court against Cody Michael Husar of Churdan. Husar was originally charged with use of dangerous weapon in commission of a crime; the charge was amended to unlawful manner of conveyance- simple misdemeanor. He was fined $70 with a $10.50 surcharge. Court costs were $60. In another case against Husar, a judgment for a $260 fine with a $39 surcharge on a charge of possession/purchase of alcohol under age, amended from possession/purchase of alcohol under age- second offense. Court costs were $60 in that case as well.

Richard Charles Burkhardt of Jefferson was fined $105 with a $15.75 surcharge on a charge of disorderly conduct- fighting/violent behavior. Court costs were $60.

Anthony Alan Harris Evans of Jefferson was sentenced to seven day in jail after he pleaded guilty to a charge of assault- simple, amended from domestic abuse assault. All but two days of the jail time was suspended. He must complete in person and assaultive behavior course. Evans was fined $105 with a $15.75 surcharge. Court costs were $120. One count of domestic abuse assault was dismissed.

A charge against Justin Joe Downs of Churdan of possession of drug paraphernalia was dismissed.

Cases were initiated during the week ending April 12 as follows: Elaine M. Norgart pf Pisgah, theft- fifth degree; Jessie James Sanders of Jefferson, criminal mischief- fifth degree; Steven Logan Dzuris of Jefferson, public intoxication; and Deidra Raedan Sheets of Gowrie, provide false identification information.
