Boys face tough competition at Winterset meet

The Ram boys track and field team placed seventh of 13 teams at the Winterset Husky Invitational April 2. The North Polk Comets dominated the meet, winning seven events. The Rams posted no first place finishes.

The Rams finished second in behind NP in the 4X110m shuttle hurdle relay with a time of 1:05.34. Running the race were Jaxon Warnke, Bryce Stalder, Nathan Black and Jackson Morton.

Morton came in second in the 110m hurdles with a time of 16.03 seconds, .2 second behind Hunter Manock of NP.

Black claimed third place in the high jump, clearing the bar at 5’10”.

Other Ram events winning points toward the team total were Jose Velazco and Stalder in the long jump. Velazco finished in fifth place with a jump of 10;2.5”, while Stalder finished in sixth place at 18’ 11.5”.

Team scores were North Polk 175, ADM 111, Underwood 73, Nevada 58, Earlham 40, Winterset 37, Greene County 28, Clark 26, Nodaway Valley 14, Centerville 10, Woodward Granger 8, Martendate-St Mary 6, and Creston 2.
