Steve Brown of Brown Funeral Home in Jefferson recently donated 177 metal folding chairs to the Greene County Community Center. The value of the chairs is more than $3,500, according to Jefferson park and recreation director Vicky Lautner.
“This gift will help us provide seating for Mega Nights and hosting large events at a moment’s notice without trying to find chairs,” Lautner said. “We are grateful to have received this gift for the Greene County Community Center.”
The chairs have already been put to good use, as they were available when the community barbecue celebrating Pillar Technology’s opening Sept. 7 was moved to the community center on short notice. In the past, chairs for large events were hauled from Clover Hall.
