Greene County district court, week ending Jan. 26

In Greene County district court Tyson James Ruth, 36, of Jefferson was sentenced to five years in prison after he changed his plea to guilty to a charge of theft- second degree. He was fined $750 with a $262.50 surcharge; both were suspended. The court found Ruth is unable to pay restitution for his court appointed attorney’s fees. He must pay a $125 Law Enforcement Initiative surcharge and $777.94 court costs. Charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of stolen property and criminal trespass were dismissed, as well as a charge of possession of burglars tools in another district court case and a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia in magistrate court. Jessica Jane Marie Martin, 31, of Lake City was fined $1,000 with a $350 surcharge on a charge of driving while license revoked. She must also pay $120 restitution for her court appointed attorney’s fees and $241.50 court costs. A charge in magistrate court of operating without interlock device was dismissed. Court costs in that case were $60. (Sentencing: Kester)

Mark Raymond Lane, 61, of Jefferson was sentenced to two years in prison after he changed his plea to guilty to a charge of operating while intoxicated- second offense. All but seven days of the prison term was dismissed and he was placed on probation for two years. He can receive credit for 48 hours of the jail time by completing an OWI weekend offender program. He must complete the recommendations of a substance abuse evaluation he has already undergone and he must complete a drinking drivers school at a community college. Lane was fined $1,875 with a $656.25 surcharge, a $10 drug abuse resistance education (DARE) surcharge, sheriff’s room and board for the jail time he serves, and $100 court costs. Cases were initiated in district court as follows: Donna Kay Diekmann, 43, of Scranton, theft- second degree; Kyle Dean Rysavy, 18, of Jefferson, possession of marijuana; and Christopher Hollis Christian, 36, of Grand Junction, driving while license barred.
