Genesis Development awarded 12th consecutive 3-year accreditation

CARF International announced that Genesis Development has been accredited for a period of three years for its Community employment, community housing, community integration, employment planning, organizational, services coordination, supported living, mental health assessment and referral (adults and children), mental health crisis intervention (adults and children), mental health crisis stabilization, mental health outpatient treatment (adults and children) and applied government standards programs.

The latest accreditation is the 12th consecutive three-year accreditation that the international accrediting body, CARF, has awarded to Genesis Development for its services.

No other mental health and disability organization in the country has received as many consecutive three-year accreditation awards from CARF, press release states.

This accreditation decision represents the highest level of accreditation that can be awarded to an organization and shows the organization’s substantial conformance to the CARF standards. An organization receiving a three-year accreditation has put itself through a rigorous peer review process. It has demonstrated to a team of surveyors during an on-site visit its commitment to offering programs and services that are measurable, accountable, and of the highest quality.

Genesis Development is a not-for-profit organization with offices in Jefferson. It has been providing opportunities, choices and support for people with disabilities throughout central Iowa since 1973.
