Congressman Steve King (R, Iowa’s 4th district) will be the featured speaker at a spring rally sponsored by the Greene County Republican central committee. The event will be held Thursday, April 7, at the VFW Post, 109 N Chestnut, in Jefferson. Doors open at 6 pm with the program starting at 7 pm.

Congressman King represents Iowa’s 4th Congressional district, which covers all of northwest Iowa (including Greene County). He is seeking re-election this year to his eighth term in Congress.

King spent sx years in the Iowa Senate before being elected to Congress in Iowa’s then new 5th district in 2002. His House responsibilities include serving on the House judiciary committee as a member of the Constitution and immigration sub-committees. He also is a member of the agricultural and small business committees and chairs the powerful House caucus, the Conservative Opportunity Society.

“Congressman King is a powerful social and fiscal conservative, who is passionate about the Constitution and serving the people of Iowa,” said Greene County GOP chair Roger Olhausen. ”The committee thinks that the people of Greene County should hear about his commitment to Republican ideals, and that he deserves the opportunity to represent us again.”

Tickets are available only from Greene County Republican central committee members. Visit www.greenecountygop.com to find a committee member in your precinct, or call John Meyer at 515- 386-8064 for more information.
