A collision between a semi-tractor trailer and a field cultivator on Highway 30 west of Jefferson Monday evening resulted in damage of several thousand dollars.

Softball team wins vs S. Hamilton Hawks in Jefferson
The Greene County varsity softball team topped South Hamilton (Jewell) by a 4-1 score in Jefferson Monday evening. Marissa Promes struck out 10 batters and walked one. The Hawks got five hits, all of them singles. Promes is 6-0 on the season.

In Greene County magistrate court Travis Frederick Venteicher of Grand Junction was found guilty at trial May 27 of theft-fifth degree. He was fined $100 with a $35 surcharge. He must also pay a $125 Law Enforcement Initiative (LEI) surcharge, $18.45 restitution and $88.34 court costs.

The Greene County varsity baseball team started June with a 14-4 win over South Hamilton in Jefferson Monday. The game was called after five innings. Junior Daric Whipple pitched the entire game and allowed just one hit for the night. He struck out five batters and walked seven.

The Greene County Ram softball team is 6-0 on the young season after winning all three games at a chilly tournament in Ogden Saturday. All tournament games were five innings. The Rams won 10-6 over Boone, 13-11 over Webster City, and 20-7 over Carroll. The Rams totaled 43 runs and 44 hits for the day.
