Sheriff’s office tells sTEP activities

Greene County sheriff’s deputies were busy during the most recent special Traffic Enforcement Project (sTEP) May 18-31. During that time, deputies responded to nine property damage accidents and one personal injury accident. They also answered nine calls for motorist assists or driving complaints and served two arrest warrants.

According to deputy Dave Kersey, deputies issued 18 citations for speed, one for a registration violation and one for an insurance violation.  They issued 20 warnings as follows: speed, 12; insurance, two; equipment, two; stop sign violation, one; seat belt violation, one; and other traffic violations, two.
