In Greene County district court James Tirrill Perry, 37, of Ames was sentenced June 10 to two years in prison after he changed his plea to guilty to a charge of driving while license barred. In Greene County magistrate court identical judgments were entered June 3 against April E. Doggett and Angela Bonnette, both of Jefferson, on charges of disorderly conduct. They were each fined $65 with a $22.75 surcharge. A judgment for a $100 fine with a $35 surcharge was entered against Dakota Michael Gustin of Jefferson on a charge of assault. Court costs…

Jefferson police officers conducted a special Traffic Enforcement Project (sTEP) May 18-31. During that time, officer wrote 14 citations and issued 133 warnings. The following citations were issued: speed, six; driving without a license, two; driving with a suspended or revoked license, one; seatbelt violation, one; equipment violation, one; and other traffic violations, three.

Greene County sheriff’s deputies were busy during the most recent special Traffic Enforcement Project (sTEP) May 18-31. During that time, deputies responded to nine property damage accidents and one personal injury accident. They also answered nine calls for motorist assists or driving complaints and served two arrest warrants.
