West Central’s Stroburg announces his retirement

Jeff Stroburg of Jefferson, president and CEO of West Central coop, announced Oct. 21 his resignation for the purpose of retirement effective at the end of the company’s fiscal year, Jane. 31, 2015.

In accepting his resignation, chairwoman of the board Sue Tronchetti said a succession planning committee has already begun work to fill the leadership position. The board hopes to make an announcement as soon as possible.

“West Central is a sound business with a strategy focused on serving our customers and stockholders and engaging our staff,” said Tronchetti. “Our succession committee is focused on filling West Central’s top role with a proven and trusted leader who can build on our positive financial condition.”

Stroburg joined West Central in October 1999. In his 15 year tenure, the company has grown to 27 locations in 12 counties, become one of the country’s 15 largest grain companies, expanded a line of branded dairy nutrition products internationally, and has established itself as an innovative leader in the biofuels industry.

Stroburg stated he will continue to be an advocate for the biodiesel industry and international agricultural development.
