More State Fair wins told for Carlson

Marianne Carlson of Jefferson continues to claim ribbons and prizes in State Fair foods competitions. In the Chocolate Storybook Candies competition judged Aug. 12 she snagged reserve sweepstakes honors. She placed first in basic fudge (no marshmallow crème) and first in fudge with nuts. She also placed first in Chocolate Works- toffee.

Elizabeth Jacobs of Jefferson was named to the spring 2016 dean’s list at Evangel University in Springfield, MO. Jacobs was a senior majoring in social work. At Evangel University, students on the dean’s list have achieved a grade point average of 3.6 or higher. Jacobs is the daughter of Allen and Peggy Jacobs of Jefferson.

Jefferson man listed as ‘missing’

Dennis Dean Murphy, 61, of Jefferson was listed Aug. 15 on the FBI’s National Crime Information Center data base after his wife Marlene reported she has had no contact from him since Aug. 9. Jefferson police chief Mark Clouse said no foul play is suspected. There is not an active search for Murphy.
