For many years Velda DeMoss briefed everyone in Greene County on the news and events of her neighbors in Rippey with the weekly Rippey News in the Jefferson Herald.
Velda lost her battle with cancer earlier this week. Nancy Hanaman provides a poetic tribute to her. “Velda has known me for all of my 68-1/2 years and went to high school with my brother and sister. She has lived across the field from my family farm for years. I will miss her as will her family and community,” Hanaman writes as a preface to her poem.
