Greene County district court, week ending June 21

In Greene County district court Nathaniel Brown, 51, of Scranton was sentenced June 20 to two days in jail after changing his plea to guilty to a charge of operating while intoxicated- first offense. He must pay a room and board fee for the time he serves. He must complete the recommendations of a drug abuse evaluation he has already undergone, and he must complete a community college driving drivers school. He may complete the Des Moines Area Community College 48-hour alcohol education program in lieu of the jail time and drinking drivers school. Brown was fined $1,250 with a $475.50 surcharge, a $10 surcharge for drug abuse resistance education (DARE), $600 restitution for his court appointed attorney’s fees, and $100 court costs. Paul Richard Nelson, 43, of Jefferson pleaded not guilty to a charge of operating while intoxicated- second offense. A trial date was set for Aug. 21.

Information is available since the return of an arrest warrant that Mitchell Kenneth Venteicher, 33, of Jefferson has been charged with burglary- third degree and driving while license barred. The warrant was issued 5/08 and returned 6/19.

Cases were initiated in district court as follows: Whitney Jean Campbell Perez, 20, of Jefferson, possession of methamphetamine; Bret Allen Dudley, 41, of Scranton, OWI- second offense; David Hoyle, 32, of Churdan, domestic abuse assault- second offense; Jody Lyn Schad, 43, of Jefferson, driving while license barred; Rob Jonathan Herridge, 24,of Jefferson, driving while license barred; and Parker Louis Stoneburner, 18, of Ogden, possession of marijuana.
