The Greene County Rams dropped both ends of a Heart of Iowa Activities Conference dual meet hosted by South Hamilton in Jewell Thursday. Winners of Elks Hoop Shoot told

Nearly 100 people watched area youth compete in the Jefferson Elks 40th annual Hoop Shoot Saturday in the Greene County Middle School gym.  Local champions were named in three age divisions for both girls and boys.  The contest culminated competition in the Greene County and Glidden-Ralston school districts plus competitors from other area schools.

Rams take second place at Carroll mat tourney

The Greene County Rams placed second in a wrestling tournament in Carroll Dec. 21. Manson-NWM won the tournament with 178 points. Greene County followed with 154 points, just ahead of Pocahontas Area with 151 points. Other team scores were as follows: Guthrie Center, 127.5; Carroll, 103; Kuemper, 100; DM Roosevelt, 84; Exira/Elk Horn-Kimballton, 70; and Denison-Schleswig, 65.

Ram wrestlers finish fourth in Ogden tourney

The Greene County Ram wrestling team finished in fourth place out of 10 teams at a dual wrestling tournament in Ogden Saturday. Humboldt won the tournament title. Gilbert placed second, Ogden third, Carroll High fifth, North Butler sixth, Kuemper Catholic (Carroll) seventh, Coon Rapids-Bayard eighth, Clarke (Osceola) ninth, and Woodward-Granger tenth.
