Home Base Iowa designation becomes official March 13
Gov Terry Branstad and Lt Gov Kim Reynolds will be in Jefferson Thursday, March 13, at 9:30 am to officially designate Jefferson and Greene County as the first Home Base Iowa community. The announcement will be made in the showroom at AAI on Highway 30 just west of the Highway 4 intersection.

Auditor of State Mary Mosiman on March 4 released the annual audit report on Greene County. The county had local tax revenue of $18,720,473 for the year ended June 30, 2013, which included $947,843 in tax credits from the state.
