The Jefferson city council at its regular meeting Nov. 25 approved spending an amount not to exceed $35,000 to replace the platform lift at the public library. The lift provides handicap accessibility for the library’s basement meeting room and genealogical library. The present lift was installed in the early 1990s. Parts are no longer available when repair is necessary.
