Sheriff’s office pledges to enforce tobacco laws

The Greene County sheriff’s office has taken a pledge to keep tobacco, alternative nicotine and vapor products out of the hands of Greene County youngsters. In Greene County district court Patrick Michael Kennedy, 31, of Jefferson was sentenced Oct. 9 after pleading guilty to a charge of domestic abuse assault, amended from domestic abuse assault-second offense. In Greene County district court Christopher Herbert Lawrence, 35, of Ames was sentenced Sept. 25 after changing his plea to guilty Sept. 2 to charges of driving while license barred, carrying weapons and possession of methamphetamine.
