Farmers: Sign up now for cover crop incentive program
DES MOINES – Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Mike Naig last week reminded farmers about the Jan. 15 deadline to sign up for an innovative new program providing a $5 per acre premium reduction on their crop insurance in 2019 for farmers who planted cover crops this past fall.

The purchase of the former Clark Plumbing & Heating building by the Greene County Christian Action Resource Center for a new food pantry was complete Thursday. The non-profit organization was able to pay for the building in full, but fundraising continues for about $30,000 in needed remodeling and enhancements.
