Deere and Habitat partner for Rippey project

Habitat volunteers in Greene County have been very aggressive this summer, completing repairs for two thankful homeowners. The Travis Edwards family home in Scranton kept volunteers hopping with the removal of several layers of shingles and a roof installation. Jefferson residents had very pleasant weather during the week ending Sept. 2, with comfortable daytime highs and cool nights. High temperature for the week was 90 degrees on Sunday, Aug. 28, according to KCCI’s SchoolNet 8. Low temperature was  56 degrees on Friday. Jefferson received .03 inch of rain in three separate rainfalls.

Carlson placed second in the rhubarb-strawberry category of the Machine Shed and Gold Medal Flour Pies competition judged Aug. 15 at the Iowa State Fair.
