Commercial ag weed, insect, plant disease course set for Feb. 13
Early registration ends Feb. 6 Greene County Extension & Outreach will offer the commercial ag weed, insect and plant disease management continuing instruction course (CIC) for commercial pesticide applicators Tuesday, Feb. 13. The Greene County High School speech team will have five events at the state large group speech contest Saturday, Feb. 3. Six groups competed in the district contest last Saturday at Roosevelt High School in Des Moines. The contests are held under the auspices of the Iowa High School Speech Association.

Greene County was represented well at the Iowa Elks northwest district Hoop Shoot, held Saturday at the Greene County Middle School gym. Four competitors placed first in their division. Trevon Keely won among boys ages 8-9, Brynley Ruzicka won the boys ages 10-11 division, Bryce Stalder on among boys 12-13, and Natalie Towers won in the girls ages 8-9 division.
