Greene County district court, week ending Oct. 2

In Greene County district court Monica Lynn Volquartsen, 29, of Fort Dodge Sept. 25 to 15 years in prison after she changed her plea to guilty to a charge of possession of methamphetamine- third offense. The prison term was suspended. She was sentenced to two years in prison on a charge of possession of burglar’s tools. That prison term was also suspended. If the prison terms are invoked they will be concurrent, but consecutive to a prison term in a Webster County case. Volquartsen was placed on probation to the Iowa Department of Correctional Services for five years on the drug charge, and for two years on the burglar’s tools charge. She was fined $855 with a $128.25 surcharge of the charge of possession of burglar’s tools. The fine and surcharge were suspended. No judgment was entered for court costs. Lexi Frueh, 18, of Jefferson was granted a deferred judgment after she changed her plea to guilty to a charge of criminal mischief- third degree. A judgment was entered for an $855 civil penalty and she was placed on probation to Boone/Greene County Probation for two years. Court costs were $100. (Sentencing: McCarville)

Caleb Robert Pedersen, 19, of Rolfe was fined $105 with a $15.75 surcharge after he pleaded guilty to a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia, amended from possession of marijuana. No court costs were entered. (Sentencing: McCarville)

Persons pleaded not guilty at arraignment as follows: Max Sledge Crick (aka Leyendecker), 36, of Jefferson, controlled substance violation- two counts; and Raquel AnnBall, 51, of Urbandale, operating while intoxicated- second offense. Trial dates were set for Dec. 8 in both cases.

Cases were initiated in district court as follows Max Sledge Crick (aka Leyendecker). 36, possession of methamphetamine and forgery; Carson Avery Petitfils, 52, of Boone, controlled substance violation, possession of marijuana, and failure to affix drug tax stamp; Brett Michael Roberts, 33, of Ottumwa, driving while license barred; Craig Lynn Anderson, 62, of Jefferson, operating while intoxicated; Cody Nichols, 21, of Sheldon, operating while intoxicated; and John Henry Sabus, 51, of Churdan, prostitution.
