Churdan Fun Day slated for June 6

An entire day of activities is planned for Churdan Fun Day Saturday, June 6.

Highlights will be the ribbon cutting at 8 am for the new shelter house at the city park, and an All-School Reunion in the evening.

The festivities begin at 8 am with a ribbon cutting for the new shelter house at the city park. Light refreshments will be served.

Play in a 3-on -3 basketball tournament will start at 9 am at the park.

The Fun Day parade will begin lining up at 9:30 in the school parking lot. The parade will step off at 10, with the route being Hill St to Sand St, to Head St, and finishing at the school.

The Greene County Pork Producers will serve lunch at the park shelter house from 11 am to 1 pm. Inflatables will be available for kids from 11 am to 3 pm, with a sand volleyball tournament starting at noon.

At 11:30 the Town & Country Band will perform in the park. To set the mood for the evening’s all-school reunion, the band will share music from every decade starting with the 1940s and finishing with the Paton-Churdan school song. The band is directed by Victoria Anderson.

There will be face painting in the Community Room at 12:30, with a dunk tank and bingo in the library from 1 to 3 pm. Big wheel races are slated for 3 pm.

Food trucks will sell their specialties from 3 to 7 pm in the park.

The All-School Reunion will be held from 5 to 7 pm at the school. Refreshments will be served at 5 with a program at 5:30. Attendees will enjoy memorabilia from each decade in various classrooms. Shuttles will provide transportation from the park to the school.

There will be music in the park the rest of the evening, with Aaron Lotzow Dueling Pianos playing from 7 to 9 pm and the Ryan Baade One Man Band in the gazebo from 9 to 11 pm.
