A video posted in the Iowa Workforce Development June newsletter, Workforce Wire, highlights the Greene County Early Learning Center’s new facility.
Funding for the $2.1 million project included a $75,000 Child Care Challenge grant from Future Ready Iowa economic development funding, and $394,941 from the Iowa Department of Human Services’ Investing in Iowa’s Childcare fund.
Grow Greene County provided $500,000 for the project, and the Greene County board of supervisors agreed to allocate $250,000 from local option sale/service tax (LOSST) revenues. Several local employers and businesses made significant contributions to the project as well.
The new facility will open soon.
