Greene County public health director Becky Wolf reports that as of March 3, 2,204 doses of Covid-19 vaccine have been administered in the county; 470 series have been completed. Twelve percent of Greene County residents have received their first dose of vaccine; 5 percent are fully vaccinated.
Wolf requests persons who are on the public health vaccine waiting list and have received their vaccine elsewhere to call public health to be removed from the waiting list.
The 14-day positivity rate for Covid-19 testing in the county is 2.8 percent. Overall, 794 residents have been infected with Covid-19. There are currently 89 active cases.
Wolf shared information for those who plan to travel over the upcoming spring break. The CDC recommends delaying travel and staying home to protect yourself and others.
Persons should not travel or cross borders who
- Are sick with symptoms of Covid-19 (fever, cough, etc) – Stay home and isolate
- Have recently tested positive for Covid-19 with a viral test
- Have had close contact with a person with Covid-19 in the past 14 days
- Are waiting for results of a Covid-19 viral test
International travelers should

- If eligible, get fully vaccinated for Covid-19 and wait two weeks after final dose for your body to build protection
- Get a viral test 1-3 days before travel; keep a copy of results with you during travel
- Check travel restrictions
- Masks are required on planes, buses, trains, and other forms of public transportation
- Avoid crowds and stay at least six feet from anyone who didn’t travel with you
- Wash hands or use hand sanitizer frequently
- Avoid contact with anyone who is sick
After returning home from international travel, persons should
- Get tested 3-5 days after travel AND self-quarantine at home for seven days after travel
- Self-quarantine for 10 days after travel if no testing is done
- Avoid being around people who are at increased risk for severe illness for 14 days, whether or not you get tested
