In Greene County district court Logan Patrick Stripe, 26, of Boone was granted a deferred judgment Dec. 20 after he pleaded guilty to a charge of illegal possession of oxycodone. He was placed on probation to Boone/Greene County Probation for one year. He must undergo a substance abuse evaluation and complete any recommended treatment at his own expense. He must pay a civil penalty of $315. Court costs were $175.53. (Sentencing: Honorable Joseph B. McCarville).
Justin Michael Goins, 39, of Lidderdale was found guilty at a non-jury trial Dec. 23 of domestic abuse assault causing injury or mental illness. He was sentenced to two days in jail and fined $105 with a $15.75 surcharge. Court costs were $174.03. Magistrate Jessica Morton presided over the trial.
