An open house at long term care at Greene County Medical Center on Wednesday showcased improvements to the activities room to make it more inviting to residents and their visitors.
New carpet and new ceiling tiles were installed. After a fresh coat of paint, new decorative touches, including hangers for wall quilts were added. New spacious storage cabinets hold games, puzzles, books, videos, and other items that used to clutter windowsills and other horizontal surfaces. A very large table formerly used as a conference table in the public health department was moved up to long term care, and different tables and chairs were put there, too.
“It was just time. It’s a nice boost for our residents and staff,” community relations director Carla Offenburger said about the face lift.
The activities room is located on the west end of the building in the former west dining room.
