Reserve your spot now for ‘Stay Independent’ senior nutrition, wellbeing program

Stay Independent is a nutrition and wellbeing program offered through Iowa State University Extension and Outreach for adults who are 60 and older. The program begins Nov. 9 in Jefferson.

“Our program provides topics related to the nutrition risks and key behaviors of older Iowans through research-based nutrition and wellness information. Other topics help Iowans assess environmental factors to age in place, identify financial exploitation and fraud, and raise awareness about planning for future care and end-of-life decisions,” said Morgan Newell, a health and human sciences educator.

Two upcoming workshops will be offered Nov. 9 and Nov. 16 from 10:30 to 11:30 am at the Greene County Community Center. The topics include Brain Health and Planning Ahead for Future Care.

The cost of the workshops is sponsored by Greene County Iowa State University Extension and Outreach.
