Entrepreneurs, business owners, and aspiring business leaders are invited to attend the second session of BYOB: Build Your Own Business on Tuesday, June 16. The quarterly series is designed to help local entrepreneurs learn, connect, and grow through practical education and networking opportunities.
This session, titled Tax & Legal Essentials, will feature a panel of local and regional experts who will share insights. Speakers include Ross Martens, CPA with Martens & Associates, Brandon Hommer, attorney with Hoyt, Morain & Hommer, and Leah Locke, regional director for Iowa State University’s America’s SBDC Iowa.
Together, the speakers will discuss important tax, legal, and business considerations that can help entrepreneurs make informed decisions, avoid common pitfalls, and build a strong foundation for long-term success. Whether someone is exploring a business idea, launching a new venture, or managing an established business, the session offers an opportunity to gain practical knowledge, ask questions, and connect with fellow business owners and community partners. The event is free to attend and open to anyone interested in starting, growing, or strengthening a business.
