Volunteers of Greene County’s Christian Action Resource Center (ARC) recently honored Dianne Blackmer for her leadership service. Blackmer stepped down this spring as president of the ARC board, following earlier service as food pantry manager. She has been involved with ARC for more than 23 years, providing steady leadership through periods of growth and change.
Reflecting on her service, Blackmer said, “It has been a privilege to work with so many dedicated volunteers. As we organized and developed the program at the current location, we reached more people who needed our help and offered a wider range of donations.”

Community needs continue to rise. In the past year, at least 421 households, representing 1,191 individuals, received food and essential family support through ARC programs. The ARC food pantry is open to Greene County residents every Thursday from 9 to 11:30 am at 1006 N. Vine St in Jefferson.
The ARC board of directors expressed deep appreciation for Blackmer’s commitment, compassion, and unwavering belief that no neighbor should face hardship alone. Those honoring Blackmer represent a portion of the nearly 100 volunteers who provide hands-on support this essential community service.
