Greene County district court, week ending June 6

In Greene County district court Kendall Griffin, 18, of Jefferson was granted a deferred judgment after he changed his plea to guilty to a charge of possession of marijuana. He must pay a $430 civil penalty. He was placed on probation to Boone/Greene County Probation for one year, and he must complete the recommendations of a substance abuse evaluation. The court found him unable to pay restitution for his court appointed attorney’s fees or court costs. A charge against Griffin in magistrate court of possession of drug paraphernalia was dismissed. Darrien Michael Lamar Peterson, 23, of Churdan was sentenced to seven days in jail after he changed his plea to guilty to a charge of possession of marijuana. The jail term was suspended and he was placed on probation to Boone/Greene County Probation for one year. He must complete any treatment recommendations of a substance abuse evaluation at his own expense. He was fined $430 with a $64.50 surcharge. A charge of person ineligible to carry dangerous weapon was dismissed. Court costs were $100. A charge in magistrate court of possession of drug paraphernalia was dismissed. Johnathan Henry Bohling, 44, of Hubbard was sentenced to 15 days in jail after he changed his plea to guilty to a charge of driving while license barred. The jail term was suspended and he was placed on probation to Boone/Greene County Probation for one year. He must also complete 100 hours of community service. He was fined $855 with a $128.25 surcharge; both were suspended. He must pay an amount not to exceed $400 restitution for his court appointed attorney’s fees and $100 court costs. A charge in magistrate court in which Bohling was charged with operate without interlock device was dismissed. (Sentencing: McCarville)

Persons pleaded not guilty to charges as follows: Jason William Sheldahl, 54, of Grand Junction, possession of controlled substance- third or subsequent offense; and Matthew Jordan Moran, 28, of Denison, assault causing bodily injury or mental illness. Trial dates were set for July 22 in both cases.

Cases were initiated as follows: Jeremy Everitt Fister, 48, of Jefferson, dependent adult abuse- exploitation greater than $100, 18 counts; theft- first degree, and ongoing criminal conduct- unlawful activity; Kim M. Asingho, 33, of Jefferson, driving while license revoked; and Randolph Lee Glass, 59, of Rippey, driving while license barred.
