The Ram cross country teams had three medalists at the Wildcat Classic hosted by West Central Valley Sept. 5.
The two male medalists, Noah Hinote in third place and Brady Carstensen in eight place, helped the Rams to a second place team finish. Rylee Mowrer finished 14th in the girls race, but the team didn’t have enough runners for a team score.
Coach Jeff Lamoureux reported being “very pleased” with the results.
The winning time in the boys’ 5K was 17:06.03 by Alex Davis of Ankeny Christian.
Times and places for the Rams were Noah Hinote,17:56.00, 2nd; Brady Carstensen, 18:12.8, 8th; Carter Hinote, 19:29.40, 16th; Nick Black, 19:40.20, 19th; Kole Johnson-Peterson, 21:11.40, 31st; Eli Carstensen, 21:17.40, 33rd; Jayden Koller, 21:20.6, 34th; Raymond Bauer, 23:57, 56th; Rhys Palmer, 22:46.90, 59th; Tucker Ford, 25:19.80, 66th; and Dexter Ritter, 28:33.40, 76th.
Team scores were Ankeny Christian 40; Greene County 77; Nodaway Valley 92; Interstate 35 Truro 93; Des Moines Hoover 157; Creston 163; Exira/elk Horn-Kimballton, 182; Pleasantville, 195; Saydel 202; and Southwest Valley 224.
The winning time in the girls’ 5K race was 21:22.9 set by Olivia Phillips of Interstate 35 Truro.
Rylee Mowrer’s time was 24:09.30. Other Ram times and finishes were Evelyn Snyder, 27:43.7, 36th; and Ava Jablonski, 28:20.70, 40th.
