Harsh conditions didn’t stop the Greene County Ram boys golf team from shooting well at their meet last week.
The Ram boys had a tee time at Woodland Hills Golf Course last week where they took on Roland-Story, South Hamilton and Saydel. They finished three shots back from the lead. The Ram boys shot a team score of 167; South Hamilton was first at 164; third went to Roland-Story with 173 and Saydel, fourth at 189.
“Greens were extremely hard. Our chips and putts were a challenge. (There was) high wind again. All the boys were hitting well even though our team score doesn’t show (it). We need to drop down into the 150’s before sectionals,” said head coach Kyle Kinne.
Scores were: Jack Hansen, 40, tied for second; Landon Vote, 41, tied for fourth; Nathan Behne, 42, tied for fifth; Carter Hinote, 44, tied for ninth; Nathan Towers, 48, 12th.
The second meet of the week for the Ram boys was canceled as widespread severe weather hit the state last Friday.
