The Greenbrier 4-H Club met Monday, April 8, at 7 pm in Clover Hall at the Greene County Fairgrounds. The meeting was called to order by Cody Stephenson. Secretary Becca Anderson called roll and read minutes of the last meeting. The Young Leaders’ report was given by Shailynne Woodley.
Members were reminded to have the YQCA training done by May 15 in order to show animals at the Greene County Fair, which must now be completed online with a completion certificate sent to Samantha at the extension office.
Livestock ID’s that are not already turned into the Extension office at weigh-ins are due May15.
Sheep and goat weigh-in will be Saturday, May 4, from 7:30 to 11 am at the fairgrounds. Also at the fairgrounds will be rabbit tattooing and pullorum testing June 29 and 30. Horse and dog workshops will be highlighted in the Greene County Newsletter.
The 4-H theme for the Greene County Fair is “Explore the Jungle of Opportunities in 4-H”. Decoration ideas were entertained. 4-H members were reminded to make sure their T-shirt size was correct on 4-H online in order to receive their fair T-shirt sponsored again this year by the Home State Bank.
Presentations were given by Olivia Burkett about the differences between playing softball and baseball, Lily Sheridan on dog training, and Shailynne Woodley on treating anxiety. Tyler Pope shared his experiences hunting deer and Norah Hoyt told of losing privileges in the home.
The meeting concluded with Tennis Ball Frenzy recreation and refreshments served by Norah Hoyt and Tyler Pope.
Greenbrier’s next meeting will be Monday, May 13, at 7 pm in Clover Hall.
