Prom Closet open with dresses galore

Spring is just around the corner. That means young ladies will soon be shopping for prom dresses.

The Prom Closet is a non-profit organization, relying solely on donations of prom gowns. These donated dresses are located in the Ascension Lutheran Church, 406 Fifth Avenue, Coon Rapids.

The Prom Closet provides gently used prom gowns to Iowa students who might not otherwise be able to afford one. Prom dresses can be upwards of $700 these days, not to mention shoes, nails, hair, accessories, etc. Through generous donations of dresses from other high school students, The Prom Closet has a wonderful inventory of gowns size 00 through 28 this year. There are dressing rooms available, along with shoes, purses, and jewelry, ALL free of charge to the students.

FREE shopping days are planned each Saturday in February: 9 am to 2 pm on Feb. 3, Feb. 10, Feb. 17 and Feb. 24. It will also be open on Sundays, Feb. 18 and 25, from 2 to 5 pm.

Persons who want information can call/text Dona Tuel at 712-830-7825. Appointments can be scheduled if the weekend hours are inconvenient.
