American Legion Post #11 made its annual visit to the local nursing homes to honor the veterans who reside there.
“They are unable to visit the Veteran Day activities in the community meant to honor them, so we try to take Veterans Day to them,” Post commander Fred Long said. “We feel honored and privileged to show them that they are not forgotten and that their military service is much appreciated.”
Staff at Regency Park decorated and arranged the room and provided a decorated cake paying tribute to the veterans. Long thanked them helping make the event special.
Legion members were disappointed not to be able to visit the veterans at The Gardens due to health issues there.
