High schools celebrate homecoming next week

Greene County and Paton-Churdan will celebrate each celebrate Homecoming 2023 next week.

Greene County is using a “Rams Got Game” tagline with a board game theme. Paton-Churdan students are trendy with a “Win Like Barbie” tagline and a Barbie theme.

Greene County seniors selected members of the homecoming court.

Queen candidates are (front, from left) Georgia Osterson, Hallie Monthei, Ester Van Horn, Ali Lawson, Olivia Hoyt and Graci Cooklin. King candidates are (back, from left) Jack Hansen, Noah Cornell, Cody Allen, Gavini Vander Linden, Nathan Behne and Gabe Ebersole.

The queen and king will be named at a coronation Friday, Sept. 22, at 3 pm on the south side of the courthouse. The homecoming parade will precede coronation, leaving the gravel parking lot at Linduska Field at 2:15 and heading north on Chestnut St to the courthouse.

Paton-Churdan will hold coronation Thursday, Sept. 21, after hosting West Harrison for 5 pm volleyball.

The Rams host Kuemper High School for football Friday. Kickoff is 7 pm.
