
Dennis Charles Jordan, son of Irvin and Margaret (Maddux) Jordan, was born November 12, 1948, in Jefferson. Dennis passed away December 11, 2022, at the Greene County Medical Center in Jefferson, at the age of 74 years.
Dennis graduated from high school in 1967, then went to Iowa State University to be a teacher. Dennis was united in marriage to Mary Wilson on Nov. 19, 1966. They became the parents of two sons, Troy in 1967 and Tony in 1969.
Dennis worked for Chicago Rivet and then later worked for the hospital from 1971 to 1981. He later went to work at Scranton Manufacturing wiring trailers. In 1986, Dennis went to Trinity Bible School to become a minister. He graduated in 1990, and Dennis and Mary went to Africa in 1991 as missionaries. They moved back to Iowa where Dennis was a minister in Leon. They later moved to Miller, SD, where he was a minister, and also worked at a hardware store there for many years. While in South Dakota, he enjoyed trapping muskrats. Dennis and Mary later moved to Gillette, WY, to be a minister there, and then eventually back to Jefferson, where he worked and Dollar General and drove a WITS bus until he retired.
Dennis loved to fish, hunt, trap, and to garden. He also really enjoyed camping.
Dennis was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Mary Jordan; and his brother Ronnie Jordan.
He is survived by his sons Troy (Nicole) Jordan and Tony (Reymalyn) Jordan; sister Judy (Rich) Burnell; sisters-in-law Carol Zwicky and Kathy Funcke; brother-in-law Charles Crain; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; other relatives; and friends.
