Free career readiness workshop slated for Sept. 7

As Iowa works towards recovery, ISU Extension and Outreach in Greene County has been reviving the Iowa economy. The Career Readiness Project has become Extension’s long-term project to assist employees and employers.

Greene County employers are looking for a qualified and consistent workforce, while employees are looking to improve their household income. This project is sponsored by Jefferson Telecom and the McLaughlin Family Companies.

ISU Greene County Extension is collaborating with Iowa Central Business & Community to present Career Readiness: Resume & Cover Letter Workshop Wednesday, Sept. 7, from 3 to 5 pm. The workshop will be held at the Greene County Career Academy, Room D-122, at 1901 N. Grimmell Rd in Jefferson. Participants should park on the north side of the building and enter through Door N5.

There is no charge for this workshop.

Participants will learn to write a resume and cover letter, expressing themself correctly, clearly and effectively in writing.
