GCCF offers help and hope now and for the next 150+ years

What can happen in 150 years?  Look around Jefferson and you will see bountiful growth, change, and possibility, as well as hope for the next 150 years.  The Greene County Community Foundation (GCCF) is one source of hope for all of Greene County just as its tagline, “for good, for ever”, states.

Sun shades protect Festival-goers from excessive heat (or rain!)

The GCCF board wishes to celebrate the Bell Tower Festival by highlighting the projects the Foundation has funded over the past 16 years in support of the Mahanay Bell Tower and the Bell Tower Festival.

The two entities have received four grants totaling $21,667. Projects include an upgrade to the lobby of the Bell Tower, the souvenir penny press, and most recently a grant for marketing the Mahanay Bell Tower, as well as the shade structures over the town square allowing the visitors of the Bell Tower Festival to enjoy protection from the Iowa weather.

The Bell Tower and the Festival, which highlight our county seat, have been a part of our history for many years, and the GCCF is proud to help in supporting the trademark of our town, and the weekend celebration.

Thanks to the many donors to the GCCF and its endowment, the GCCF will be able to continue awarding grants to worthwhile projects like these in the next 150 years as well.  Watch for the GCCF entry in the parade, and to learn more about the Foundation, check out the website at http://forgreenecounty.org.
