A Churdan man was killed Saturday in a crash in northwest Carroll County.
According to information from the Iowa State Patrol, at 11:37 am Alexander Fister, 31, of Lytton was northbound on Velvet Ave driving a 2019 Dodge Ram 1500 “Big Horn” pickup truck. Dennis Hardy, 69, of Churdan was westbound on 130th St driving a 2022 GMC Sierra pickup truck. Fister failed to yield as posted and the two trucks collided in the intersection. Fister’s truck came to rest on 130th St, and Hardy’s truck entered the northwest ditch.
Both drivers were transported to Stewart Memorial Hospital in Lake City by Carroll County Ambulance. Hardy was transferred to Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines where he died of his injuries.
